DESCRIPTION: Barraud, London English "Balloon" bracket clock with 8 day time, strike and alarm spring driven double fusee movement in inlaid mahogany case, c1790
CONDITION: the rear door is a replacement, well done and with a door lock & brass sound fret, the ebonized wooden bezel has a glue repair and an age crack in case below 5. The front panel has been re-attached to the carcass with epoxy, which can be seen in the mov't photo (it is holding fine, but would benefit from being painted black). The pendulum is a proper replacement. The dial is nicely silvered and engraved "Barraud London" with finely cut brass hands. The alarm mechanism is intact. Overall a good 18th Century English clock.
